Classically elegant French brass corniche cased carriage clock retailed by Wallace Allan c1890. Bevelled glass panels in a rectangular frame with lovely antique brass patina. Roman numerals on a white enamelled face with blued steel hands. Signed Wallace Allan, Paris (slightly rubbed) - jewelers based in Ayr, Scotland, established 1873. The clock is an 8-day duration timepiece mechanism with original, jewelled cylinder platform escapement. Supplied with brass double-ended key. The clock measures 10.5 cm height excluding handle (14 cm to top of handle), 7.5 cm width and 6 cm depth. Excellent time-keeper. Fully cleaned and serviced. A lovely pre-1900 example.
