A particularly lovely and beautifully executed Doulton Lambeth stoneware vase by Rosina Brown, circa 1895. Elegant Art Nouveau tubelined design of irises encircling the body of the vase on a deep blue ground. The vase is of ovoid form with a broad rim. The vase is 19 cm in height. Impressed Doulton Lambeth mark. Monograms for Rosina Brown (RB) and Eleanor Tosen (ttt). Pattern number 4485.

 

Rosina Brown (RB) joined Doulton in 1875 initially as Senior Assistant working alongside other artists such as Frank Butler, Eliza Simmance and Hannah Barlow. Her work being recognised, she went on to complete her own designs as an artist in her own right.
