In 1898 Liberty & Co embarked on a new metalwork venture and by 1903 were retailing their own range of pewterware. Initially they imported as well as commissioning pieces from producers, eventually investing in the Birmingham firm of W H Haseler (using the “Solkets”mark). As result there are a number of different combinations of marks seen on Liberty's pewterware. Common throughout is the model number - characteristically stamped. Earlier numbers begin with a zero and followed by up to three numbers. For further information on Liberty & Co visit our history pages.
