Attractively proportioned French inlaid rosewood vitrine or display cabinet with ormolu mounts c1880. Rectangular cabinet with shaped apron raised on four slender, tapering cabriole legs. Fine floral and scroll marquetry to top and front with veneers to front door laid on the bias. Ormolu cornice to top and ormolu mounts to front with sabots to all four feet. Glass top panel over a three glazed panel cabinet with shaped, glazed front door enclosing a single glass shelf. All glass panels are of period glass bordered by shaped brass mouldings. Knife hinges to front door which has a working lock and key. Original oak back. Relined in quality champagne velvet. The cabinet is 112 cm in height, maximum width is 63 cm and maximum depth is 42 cm. This display cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with age. Minor historic marks, wear and repairs as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture.
