A good late Georgian mahogany chest of drawers with canted corners c1800. Two short drawers above three graduated long drawers. The chest has a figured solid mahogany top with double ogee edge mouldings. Plain canted corners arising from shaped corner blocks below and ascending to a top moulding also exhibiting the corner cant. Cock-beaded solid figured mahogany drawer fronts with pine liners and drawer bottoms. Original swan-neck brass handles. Supported on shaped bracket feet below a base moulding. Original pine back. The chest measures 114 cm wide, 55 cm in depth and 93 cm in height.

Overall this chest of drawers is in excellent condition commensurate with age. Minor historic knocks, marks and wear as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture. All joints are sound. Unobtrusive almost universally found shrinkage cracks to side panels. Retains its lovely aged original finish. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
