A quality pair of early Victorian button-back armchairs with rosewood frames c1850. Fine quality scroll and foliate carving to front legs, arm supports and front serpentine rail. Carved cabriole front legs terminating in ball and volute feet, and with rear out-swept legs. All show-wood is of top-quality rosewood with a lovely aged patina and retaining the original finish. Deep button-back with overstuffed, crown seat. The chairs have been traditionally reupholstered in a quality neutral cream fabric, retaining their traditional horsehair and hessian rolls. Upholstery edged to show-wood with double welting. Maximum dimensions are 68 cm in width, 84 cm in height and 82 cm overall depth. Seat height is approximately 40 cm.

This pair of armchairs are in excellent condition commensurate with age. Traditionally reupholstered to a very high standard. Show-wood sympathetically restored in our workshop to a very high standard and retaining the original finish. All joints are sound.
